Welcome to our parishes nestling in the Cheviots.

Here we wish to introduce ourselves to you, give some historic background to our places of worship and offer you information on our current activities.

This is very much Border country and God has been worshipped here from the very earliest settlements of Christianity. All our ancient parish borders are crossed by the St Cuthbert’s Way, a long distance walk from Old Melrose to Lindesfarne. On his way it is said Cuthbert loved to roam our hills bringing the good news of the Gospel to the ‘hill’ people. At Yetholm it is said the nobles who fell at Flodden were brought for a Scottish burial. Linton, a Norman Kirk, has the only Tympanum Stone extant in Scotland and is the home of remarkable legends. Hownam Kirk lies within the lovely Kale Valley - sheep country - and host to the remains of very early settlements. At the bottom of the valley lies the delightful village of Morebattle.

For our friends and members this site will host information and news that we hope you will find useful. We have started to place some features and worship items into the site which we hope you enjoy.
Yours
